Be Seen, Be Heard While Congress Is Back Home

May 30, 2017 By Cathy Moran

Members of Congress are back home in their districts, supposedly for the purpose of listening to their constituents.

Have you been heard?

If your Member of Congress has scheduled a town hall meeting, be there.

Here’s the game plan-goals and questions to ask- from Indivisible

If your Member isn’t willing to schedule a meeting, go where they are with your questions.

Remember, too, that the Member has a local office, staffed with people who should be working for you.

Pick up the phone, schedule a meeting.  Let them hear from you what matters in your life.

Remind them that your vote should matter to them.

Visionary Voter Mission

VisionaryVoter.org serves as the bulletin board for an engaged citizenry.

The events of 2016 require more from us. We’ve learned with shattering clarity the importance of checks and balances; a free press; and engagement in the civic life of our country.

Many of us found we had more questions than answers about how government works.

Like it or not, we are a community. And we each bear a responsibility for the quality of that community.
